Technical Converters Ltd was established in 1991 by Clive Oliver and Michael Freeman. After working for various large packaging manufacturers, they saw a need for a highly flexible and specialized coating and laminating company. Their ethos of working closely with highly demanding clients on new technical products across a wide range of industries is still instilled in the business today. We can offer this full service regardless of size of project. We have a long history of taking products from an idea to fully designed and engineered product whether that is Business to Business or direct to consumers.  

We offer coating, laminating, slitting and sheeting services to the packaging industry and to a range of other specialist industries. 

A full service is provided from designing a product to meet a customer need through to testing and producing it.  This can be done with us using our wide and international supplier base and vast knowledge of specialist materials to source what you need. We are also able to offer specialist contract coating using materials supplied by the customer. 

The company has grown steadily over the last 30 years and now has a turnover approaching £4M, based on our technical expertise have been successful in expanding the range of materials produced and the range of industries served.

Graduate chemist with over 40 years of experience in the flexible packaging industry in the UK and Europe. 

Nick Doble - Technical Director

Experienced materials technician with 30 years of experience within the ink and coatings industry including a string technical support background.

John Oliver - Commercial Director

10 years with the business, specialist in flexible packaging industry and process management with a strong background in management and operations.

Operating Staff 

Operating a 24-hour rotating shift pattern with a 20+ team on key plant.
